The city of Plano, Texas is a suburban area of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, approximately 20 miles out of Downtown Dallas. Mostly located in Collin County, parts in Denton County, Plano is home to 259,841 residents(according to 2010 census).

The city of Plano was incorporated in 1873 and originally was occupied by European settlers around the 1840s. The name of the city is named after the surrounding terrain. Plano is a Spanish word which translates to flat in English.

Plano does offer a public mass transportation system that flows through the city(Operated by Dallas Area Rapid Transit). The system includes a bus system and a rail system that can take you to most parts of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex..
